While this quote does not specifically mention tattoos or tattooing, it really does not have to as it makes it’s point about tattoos and tattooing in a round about way rather poignantly; as the quote states more or less, a) the body is a gift from God, and b) a temple, or in other words a representation of the Holy Spirit, and c) honor God with your body. Just from this one single quote alone one can surmise easily that getting inked up or embedding all sorts of metal into it is not in line with this quote is demanding of you, or in other words, Christians are not allowed to get tattooed nor pierced, or even frivolous plastic surgery for that matter based on this quote. However it also does not mean that you have to be a Bible thumping goodie two shoes neither, this is an important point to make as the goodie two shoes types tend to be so extreme in their self righteousness frames of minds that they are destined to fall hard, just look at all of the scandals that have happened with so many pastors and priests and ministers, etc ad nauseum.
An analogy to this quote would be that your father gives you his car for you to use temporarily, because he loves you and wants you to have good time, but that does not mean you get to keep it, you cannot damage it nor alter it nor repaint it, add flames, fuzzy dice, nothing. In fact quite the opposite is true, you need to treat that car like as if it was the most important thing in your life and return it in the exact same condition, or better, if possible.

This is the source in the Hebrew Bible for the prohibition of Hebrews (Jews) getting tattoos, but how does it pertain to followers of Christ?
Sadly there is not a single, solitary unified opinion amongst Christian leaders today as to whether tattoos are permissible or not for believers in Christ, many denominations forbid tattoos and tattooing while others see them as a matter of fact and do not forbid them.
